DESCRIPTION
Granular Seal is a high swelling, chemically unaltered sodium bentonite which contains no additives. When Granular Seal comes into contact with water, it forms a semi solid, gel-like mass which fills formation voids and limits water movement within the hole. This semi solid mass also prevents surface water from following the bore hole to subsurface water supplies.
APPLICATION
Granular Seal offers an economical way to accomplish bentonite grouting. It provides a high concentration of solids for hole abandonment and sealing casing. Granular Seal can be poured dry or used as a mixed grout for tremie placement.
Granular Seal adds no contaminants in monitoring well applications. For deep settings use Super Mud, synthetic polymer, which will retard the swelling, allowing the Granular Seal to be mixed with water and pumped to its final destination before full hydration, where it will form a permanent seal. Not recommended for use with rubber geared pumps.
RECOMMENDED USAGE
Using a grout mixer, add one 50 lbs (22.68 kgs) bag of Granular Seal to 25 gallons of water, thoroughly mix and tremmie into place. For deep settings, slowly and thoroughly mix 3 ounces (85g) of Super Mud per 25 gallons (94.6 liters) of water before adding the Granular Seal to the mix.
PACKAGING
